Stay

Hotel San Cristóbal

Framed by the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains and occupying an enviable beachfront position with sweeping views across the Pacific Ocean, Hotel San Cristóbal is Bunkhouse’s first international hotel. Taking its name from Saint Cristopher – patron of surfers, sailors and travellers – this 32-room hotel maintains its greatest assets as the sunrises, the sunsets and the tides. An aesthete’s nirvana, the hotel embraces local influences and upholds the Bunkhouse group’s commitment to authenticity throughout its interior elements: furnishings handcrafted by artisans in Guadalajara, vibrant Guatemalan fabrics and unique local design touch points such as stamped concrete tiles. The hotel’s restaurant and bar, Benno, further nods to the local assets of the area, with Chef Edgar Palau adopting a true farm-to-table philosophy. You can be sure to enjoy the freshest fish each day, as the Chef makes use of the daily catch from the fisherman who launch their boats from the hotel’s adjacent beach. A welcoming retreat for couples, with its blissful central pool, library and even seaside mirador, Hotel San Cristóbal also stands as a charming paradise for a celebration or wedding with its very own La Capilla Chapel and event hall.

La Casita, a favourite among both locals and tourists, emulates the farm-to-table philosophy seen in Hotel San Cristobal’s restaurant. The menu is bursting with dishes incorporating innovative flavour combinations created from fish freshly caught from the local waters and organic vegetables sourced directly from the restaurant’s very own fields. This restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy an authentic dining experience and memorable taste sensations.

This oceanfront restaurant features endless views: across the village, over the Pacific and across Sierra de la Laguna. Delight on creative and contemporary Mexican dishes, again comprising ingredients sourced from the restaurant’s garden. Make sure to complement your meal with one of the delectable Baja California wines on offer.

Take to the waves in this area renowned for surfing. Todos Santos has several surf breaks offering world-class waves; for the best surf spots visit San Pedrito, Cerritos or La Pastora. For those lucky enough to be visiting in whale-watching season (late December to mid-March) take advantage of the spectacular sighting opportunity as they pass directly in front of Todos Santos. For a close-up encounter, reserve a spot on a boat tour in Cabo, or relish in the sight from a relaxing spot on a Todos Santos beach.

If you’re seeking something a little quieter, a stroll along the cobblestone streets of the Historic District for some artisan shopping and gallery visits is a must. Famous not only for its history but also for its art, Todos Santos is a delight for any art aficionado, boasting the works of both local and expat artists. Visit Galeria la Coronela to see the creations of Victor Vega and his daughter Sofia, or revel in the treasures of fine artists from throughout Baja Sur at the Galeria de Todos Santos.
