TMG x CES

CES, the epicentre for all things Tech.
TM G were on the ground in Las Vegas, alongside the world’s biggest names in Tech and Media to celebrate all the emerging trends, exclusive breakthroughs and cutting-edge technology that will no doubt, play influence to event trends in 2025.
Our Managing Director North America shares his thoughts on how enhanced design, a focus on the experiential, and of course the implementation of AI will continue to be of interest for clients this year.
“CES is where Tech comes to show off its latest innovations, and where event design trends take shape. The latest product trends included AR wearables (not just those Rayban sunglasses!) and AI inserted into every kind of home and health gadget. The showstoppers for me were the latest transparent and flexible screens that finally look ready for the masses, and from an experiential agency perspective, it’s the event design trends that get me most excited and inspired.”

TM G’s Top Event Take Aways from CES:
A Graphic Wall No Longer Cuts it
In almost every booth, we saw graphic walls enhanced and adorned with 3D elements that helped tell a fuller story – props, tiny screens, embedded LED, dioramas, the list goes on. These dimensional inserts with lighting, enhanced the classic graphic wall profoundly and we saw it everywhere.
Personalisation Activations Don’t Have to Be Expensive
It doesn’t take data or expensive efforts to make personalization have a big impact. We saw lots of simple activities from adding initials to a phone case to creating a custom scent or beverage at booths and receptions. A particular standout was Pintrest’s activation that let guests create a unique collage of images and immediately have it printed onsite onto a small canvas tote; a cost-effective personalisation that hit the right emotional note.

Recyclable and Carbon-conscious Materials Are Ready For Prime Time
While we’ve seen green materials for a long time, it seems that more booths than ever were incorporating them not just into signage and walls but into furniture and other functional installations. Standouts include the LG booth where several central “lamposts” made of recycled cardboard looked gorgeous while also delivering functionality and branding opportunities.
Time to Empower Attendees to Support Safety & Security
In the modern moment, safety of large groups has to be top of mind for event planners. At CES this year we saw robust signage and accessible QR codes that enabled attendees to raise their hand and easily report suspicious activity, a guest that may need help, or any other challenges to help planners respond and evaluate and respond to quickly.
