Tailoring London’s Cocktails

Savile Row’s Italian stalwart Sartoria has undergone significant changes in recent times. With Chef Patron Francesco Mazzei taking the helm with a refreshed menu giving a new lease of life to the restaurant, now the Sartoria Libare Bar is also welcoming new talent to its pool in the shape of a cocktail mixologist residency. Master mixologist Simone Caporale will be present every Wednesday from 28 September until 30 November offering guests an exclusive collection of cocktails that will reflect the timeless style and bespoke tailoring for which Savile Row is renowned.

Inspired by the history of Savile Row and its tradition of tailoring, Caporale, originally from Como in Italy, has reinvented the classic dry martini exclusively for Sartoria. The interesting and elegant Savile Row Martini has botanical notes of vetiver, orris root, musk and cedar wood, designed to reflect the bespoke fabrics seen in Savile Row’s tailors and a smooth texture to mirror on the palate the experience of a tailored suit.

Caporale’s exclusive collection for Sartoria will also include the White Spritz, combining prosecco with flavours of blood orange and so adding a Venetian twist to this classic cocktail. Meanwhile, style and innovation are combined in Monte Pimm’s, which sees a delicately bitter amaro mixed with seasonal fruits and Chinotto soda.

Caporale’s cocktails will be paired with a range of aperitivi from Francesco Mazzei, including dishes such as Courgette Croquettes; Tagliolini Gratin with Chanterelles and Truffle; Calamari with Courgette and Chilli Jam; and Aubergine Croquettes.
