Launching a new series of exhibitions at the award-winning Hepworth Wakefield in West Yorkshire, Disobedient Bodies, curated by renowned contemporary fashion designer JW Anderson, sets to explore the human form across art, fashion and design.

Driven by designer Jonathan Anderson’s keen interest in art and fashion, Disobedient Bodies brings together a number of works and sculptures that have inspired Anderson over the years with iconic fashion pieces and even fabrics from the JW Anderson archive. The end result is a complex and thought-provoking exhibition.

The carefully curated exhibition features 100 selected pieces, ranging from figurative sculptures by Jean Arp, Louise Bourgeois and Lynn Chadwick, amongst many others, and items from the likes of Christian Dior, Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier. At the heart of it all, a forest of jumpers encourages visitors to interact and consider their own abstract forms.

A unique insight into Anderson’s own mind, as well as a compelling commentary on gender, identity and form, Disobedient Bodies is set to be a truly captivating exhibition and space.

Disobedient Bodies: JW Anderson curates The Hepworth Wakefield runs from the 18th March – 18th June 2017.
