New York is one of the best cities for pairing beautiful luxury hotels with celebrity chef restaurants. Not only are guests being provided with the highest level of service and comfort in these 5 star hotels, but they have renowned chefs and hospitality groups running the kitchens right on their door step. In 2015 in particular, we were fortunate to receive a number of new luxury hotels in Manhattan, all bringing with them, celebrated chefs and signature restaurants.

From restaurant, to in-room dining, renowned celebrity chef Jonathan Waxman is the associated chef with ‘Jams’ in 1 Hotel Central Park. The 1 Hotels are stylish, sophisticated, and each have a design inspired by nature and our surroundings; “You’ll find nature intertwined into everything you touch, see, smell and taste at 1”. In the instance of taste, Jams restaurant fits perfectly into the philosophy and mission of these stunning hotels. Waxman received his culinary training in France in the 70’s and there he learned the importance and outcomes of using fresh, locally sourced, organic ingredients and was part of pushing the California cuisine movement forward. Waxman was one of the first chefs to bring this idea to New York making Jams and 1 Hotel Central Park the perfect collaboration.

Coming soon:
1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge
The 1 Hotel group will be opening another hotel in New York this year. Setting its sights on Brooklyn, the hotel is located right next to The Brooklyn Bridge. As with the design of the other 1 Hotels (Central Park and South Beach), the décor and interior is influenced by the beauty of nature that surrounds us. Just as 1 Hotel Central Park brought us Jams, this exciting new opening brings with it the incredible talents of another culinary genius, Chef Seamus Mullen (Tertulia, El Colmado). 3 time semi-finalist for Best Chef NYC by the James Beard Foundation, Mullen grew up on an organic farm in Vermont, learning the value of eating real, whole foods. His experience and background compliments perfectly the values and mission of the 1 Hotels and we look forward to both the hotel and restaurant opening this summer!
