A Taste of Peru

Following a makeover and travels across Peru, Michelin starred Peruvian restaurant LIMA Fitzrovia has recently reopened its doors. The interior transformations have added space, light and colour to reflect the style of its vibrant and lively cuisine. Bar ‘Sotano’ has also received a makeover and now houses additional murals to its collection by artist Bluey Byrne.

Opening its doors to London back in 2012, Lima Fitzrovia gained a Michelin star the following year. Four years later the venue has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment and received a new menu. Ever keen to keep things fresh and their knowledge of Peruvian culture and traditions at the forefront of their minds, Chef and Head of Culinary Development, Robert Ortiz recently returned to his native Peru with the whole team along with the team of sister restaurant LIMA Floral. There, they spent the summer reconnecting with his motherland, re-establishing the link with the territory and picking up new culinary skills.

The group, with Chef Virgilio Martinez at the helm, spent their time discovering new ingredients and techniques to be able to bring back to London creative dishes never seen before. LIMA’s new menu is set to launch on 6th October and it will reconfirm the restaurant’s strong ties to Peru and to continue to bring unknown ingredients to London and create a menu that educates the city on one of the world’s most innovative global cuisines.
